Minor Musings

Just rambling stuff.

11.11.2003

So I'm a week late. So sue me.

The sonogram last week was "fruitful" in a sense. The tech got all the organ picks she needed (brain, heart, etc), but no private baby parts! The little bugger had its legs crossed. She did want me back in another month to check the location of the placenta. Apparently mine sits low. [Last time it was a tilted uterus, this time the placenta....] On the upside, I'm not being kicked in the bladder. This one is kicking the outside. Fine by me!

In other news, we went bowling Saturday night. Hell, we watched the eclipse at the same time! I can now say that I've seen a full lunar eclipse. I'd seen a partial while still at SU, anything since then has been obscured by clouds. Come to think of it, there were all sorts of interesting things happening in Outer Space while I was at SU. And we had a big telescope to look at it all, too.

Back to bowling...I haven't been bowling in a really long time. I think the last time I went was summer 2000 when Wren and I went out. So I forgot about things like making sure my thumbnail was clipped off beforehand (ouch) and the wonderful feel of bowling alley shoes. Our lane was right by the side entrance, which had a great view of the moon! Periodically we'd stop bowling and take a peek out the door.

We had the bumpers up for Mikey. He was doing pretty well. My first game royally sucked. It was in the second that I started to remember all those things I learned in my Junior PE class. Yes, we did bowling. With plastic pins and hollow balls that had any finger combination possible. I beat Jerry. :) It's rare that my score tops 100, but I got a 150 something. I almost got a turkey, too, but I flubbed the 3rd strike. Oh well, I don't think Jerry would have lived it down if I had. I took a picture of the scoreboard too.

Back to the baby... Mikey's stopped staying that he doesn't want a sibling. When asked, now he says he wants a little brother, 'cause he wants a brother to play with. Nevermind the fact that both of his male cousins (on my side, he has a cousin on Jer's side now) have sisters. BUT. When asked if "is mommy having a little boy or a little girl", his answer is little girl. Odd.

I really shouldn't still be up. Jer has some sort of plague, and I have to be up in 2 hours to take Mike to daycare. Hrmph. I hope I don't catch whatever he has.

Ohyeah, Happy Veterans Day. This is one of those days where I miss working for the bank, since it's a bank holiday! But the stock markets still open. Go figure.
