Minor Musings

Just rambling stuff.

So today was my sonogram at 17 weeks. It was a bit of a bust, as the technician couldn't see a whole lot. So I go back in 2 weeks.

We did see the alien face, hands and finger, and an open mouth.

No private baby parts.

Drat.

So in 2 weeks perhaps they'll be able to tell me what I'm having. I want to see if I prove (or disprove) these gender predictors that keep saying that I'm having a girl.

You see, if I have a girl, that means that my brothers and I all have 1 boy and 1 girl each, except Ed. Ed hasn't reproduced yet, so he doesn't count.

I've also only gained 1 pound. Net weigh change this pregnancy, +1. I'm not surprised. I still have trouble eating food. Food that was just fine the day before, the next night, my stomach rebels. I've had trouble with hamburgers for the past couple of weeks now. Even the smell of Jer eating them makes my tummy roll. At least he eats them fast....

Yesterday I went into Baltimore to watch my HS's marching band in the Columbus Day parade. We took the metro in, and got to the intersection we were going to watch from just as the policebikes pulled up.

I was really surprised that Mike behaved as well as he did. He sat there and ate his Cheez-Its, watched the parade, waved at people, and blew on his duck-thing.

We didn't have long to wait before Avon Grove came down the hill. I stood closer to the street to watch, and I was really glad that I had my sunglasses on, as I was getting all teary-eyed. One of the side-effects of pregancy. Sensitivity and moodiness. The instrumental part of the band was much smaller, as the HS has started splitting the bands. Some sections were swapped around, like the woodwinds in front, rather than in the back. They looked really spiffy in the (not new to them) new uniforms (I hadn't seen them in action, as they bought them right after I graduated). And they were actually playing as they went by. I recognized the music, but I don't have the faintest idea what the piece was.

So they went by, and I took up my seat. Kennett HS was there as well. They had the same exact uniforms, except in their colors, blue and white.

The parade ended soon thereafter, and we made our way back to the metro station. We didn't do much of anything for the rest of yesterday.

Tonight I'm going to JoAnna's for her stitching circle. No, I don't get Columbus Day off, I had to take it off. I'll be showing those who are there my framed Middy. :)

So I had to fake the post from July 24th 'cause I kept FORGETTING to post about it. It's called preggo brain. I should be so lucky that my head is still attached to my neck.

The aforementioned reunion is tomorrow night. Boy I hope I don't puke on anything (or anyone). My belly is poking out, too.

I took today in addition to tomorrow off from work for no reason whatsoever than to laze about. I considered doing such things as getting my hair cut or my nails done (wtf!), but it's 3 in the afternoon and I'm still in my PJs.

Overall, the weather this summer was nice, not too hot. Isabel was kind enough to knock our electricity out for 2 days. At least we didn't live near any running water. Flood anyone? And it wasn't just Isabel, a few days after she left, we had a front come through with 5 inches of rain. Flash flood! Yikes.

So it's now October. No need for A/C. At this moment in time, the temerature is a brisk 56. I don't think that we're going to see the 70s again this year. I think I should get a jacket. A nice warm one.

Food. :)
