Minor Musings

Just rambling stuff.

Why haven't I made a post sooner? Ohyeah, it's because blogger is being crappily slow.

Anyway.

I did buy the Tears for Fears & Duran Duran CDs. From Amazon. DD is like a flashback. It all sounds like the old 90s DD, but updated. Tears for Fears I'm not quite sure of. I've listened to it once. Some of it sounds like the old TfF, some of it is different. I'll have to listen to it again.

I've bought tickets to the HFSmas Nutcracker. This is the lineup: Velvet Revolver, Chevelle, Jimmy Eat World, The Killers, Breaking Benjamin, Good Charlotte, Franz Ferdinand, Keane, My Chemical Romance. Sounds like it will be a good time.

Went to Jer's 10 year HS reunion on the 13th. That was a blast (not). We drove forever to get to this resort hotel. Only to get to eat icky hors ordurves (how the hell do you spell that?) and listen to loud music. We left quickly, but only after Jer left me standing by myself for 15 minutes. Did I mention that I wasn't feeling well? Blah.

Audrey's sitting up well. She likes to sit on the floor and play with toys. Mikey is more than happy to assist her (and there's been a few problems with him considering his old outgrown toys his). She also holds her bottle and can say ma-ma, although she hasn't the faintest idea what it means. No teeth. We did discover that her cold wasn't just a cold, it was RSV. So Jer stayed home for a few days with her to give her breathing treatments every few hours. She's still a little snotty, but nowhere near how she sounded before she went to the doctor.

Mikey's doing well in school, although he has a problem with sudden outbursts. His handwriting is being monitored as he has difficulty in handling his letters. Sometimes it's hard to believe that he'll be 6 in 3 weeks.

I'm tired all of the time. Someone in my house snores. Snores so badly I can hear it over my headphones. I can't believe the baby can sleep through his noise. I can't get him to stop, either. If I make too much trying to get him to roll into a non-snoring position (which I have now determined does not exist), it wakes up Audrey. So I just sleep on the couch now. That person promised 4 weeks ago to have it taken care of, but obviously, it hasn't happened.

FFXI! Yay!

Well, pretty much all of the DarkAsylum LS has moved to WoW. I may play once I know which server Josh is going to. If it's the same server as DA, then cool, if not, *shrug*. I'd be playing so I could play with Josh and Ed, not to follow DA.

My accomplishments...

On Meryell, I've gotten RNG to 20, NIN to 16 (after a party that went from about 11pm Thursday to 6am Friday as I leveled from 13 to 16), and last night got THF from 38-41. Also did a little work on Alchemy, Boneworking, and Clothcraft.

On Jez, after an LS PLing extravaganza, got WHM to 24. Got BLM to 21 one night after work. Jez's WHM will be part of a UV static that's supposed to start tonight.

Now, about leveling THF... We returned to the nest at one point with a couple LS members and a cool PLD. The PLD was a little too high for us, but we were having fun chaining (except for some guy who left quickly, he was still LFG awhile later). After awhile we had to move as someone had zoned a Scorpion past us. It was returning home. So we stuck out in the sack room for a bit.

A PLD we had PTed with a bit in Garlaige came on and was LFG. Our PLD suggested that we get someone more our level and avoid the nerf. So we made the change. We lost our LS BLM (and the other LS THF awhile later), but picked up a DRK I know from another LS. (He and I go all the way back to March, back in the Dunes the first time through). Probably some other changes, but I don't remember them that much anymore. 2 particular things happened, and I don't remember who all was still in the PT for it.

So I come back from a pull, next thing I know, we have 2 Crawlers and peeps start dropping. I was all over myself apologizing, as I thought I'd picked up a link. It wasn't all that busy, so Crawlers were all over the place. (I took a death later to avoid bringing 2. One popped behind me as I was pulling another). Then our previous PLD tells us... Someone trained the crawler to our camp, died, and HPed. We were tweaked. I was also trying not to zone our two crawlers, as it would cause problems later. Not to mention the gaggle of crawlers at the entrance. After the one killed the tank as we were working towards the zone, I voked it, 2 HRed, and wailed at it. I did call for help on it, but it was almost dead by that point.

I don't remember what happened to the 2nd, or if we'd killed the first and that was the 2nd.

But we got back up and went back to it. Awhile later wailing away on a Crawler when one drops down on us! Crawlers which had been zoned (not ours) were returning to their spawn point, which required dropping down a cliff, of which we were at the base of...

Some people died from this incident. I don't remember who, mostly mages, I think. But we killed the first, and were working on the 2nd when a THIRD dropped from above.

Ugh. So those got zoned. I wasn't even complaining about the zoning at that point. We did PT for awhile after that, and when we quit, it was because we were all falling asleep at our keyboards.

I checked my exp after I warped back to Jeuno. 19 exp to lvl 39. >.<

We tried to PT again the next night, but our tanky friend didn't log on. There were a total of 4 tanks our range on at that time, 1 was afk, 1 was doing "stuff", the other 2 were in parties. So we were working on trying to secure a dedicated tank for us. (Death decided he wanted to lvl with Jer and I and got the tank for us, in addition to a BLM LS friend of his)

Which brought us to... last night! After an exciting trip running around Eastern Altepa Desert in search of the telepoint, we regrouped and teleported to Altepa to level. Our 6th PT member was a RNG that Death had found. Once we got ourselves camped, we got to work slaying Goblins at about 11pm.

And we rocked! I got to 41 before we called it quits at 4am. And we were talking about staticing ourselves, which would be really cool. We could do it Friday nights after I get home from work, as most of the guys were out west somewhere.

So today, once I get home from work, we'll be working on doing 3-3, so Jer and I will have Rank 4. Then later it will be time for our mid-20 static. Hopefully.

At some point I will need sleep. I had yesterday off, so after being up all night in the dunes party, I slept all day. And today I'm covering 1st shift, as some dumbnut decided on Tuesday that they wanted to do testing this weekend. I hope its over soon.. I went from FFXI to car to work.

I think now I'm going to lay my head down and try to catch some ZZZs.

I think I should include what CDs I'm listening to on the side.

I haven't bought the new Tears for Fears or Duran Duran CDs yet, but I did pick up Keane's Hopes and Fears. Great CD! It's amazing how things sound with just a drumset and keyboard/piano. I'm also of the opinion that the video shown of Somewhere Only We Know that is aired on The-N is far more superior than the one aired on VH-1.

In-game news:
THF level 36 attained!
Norg fame - Riceballs at 153gil! (I hate Yagudo Necklaces and Zinc Ore now!)
SMN quest completed!
Vazhl Telepoint crystal obtained (died 2x on the way)
Tonko: Ichi and Utsusemi: Ichi quests completed!

Now I need to take NIN into the Dunes and level it to 20 so I can sub it instead of WAR. Dual Wield, baby! I need to level RNG to 20 as well. That way I can switch between the two. Uber-DD and Uber-Puller. Though our PLD tank Sunday night was impressed with my pulling in the Citadel...

Halloween has come and gone. Kiddo was, for once, NOT Spiderman. This year he was the Incredible Hulk, and he willingly wore the mask! Audrey also looked pretty cute in her Tigger suit. I have pictures, but they need to be pulled off the camera. I should have taken pictures of the pumpkins I carved. I wound up doing the faces on all 3, at least Jerry cleaned them out. On the big one I did a pattern of a castle. Very frustrating, but it turned out well!

Mikey didn't bring home too much candy, not much of it was chocolate, though. :( It was mostly stuff he'd eat.

Mikey's handwriting is getting better. I did buy some kid's lined paper so that he can practice writing between the lines.

Audrey is sitting up better. She can't pull herself into a sitting position, but she can stay there for awhile if she's been set up. We still need to get her crib put together...

I've been reading a lot lately, so I really haven't been doing much of interest.

And I'm not touching the election with a 10 foot pole. Except to say that I had to wait about an hour in line yesterday. >.<
