Ok, so this weekend I didn't have to work, yay!
Friday night I felt fine when I got home. Hopped onto Jez, and figured I'd try to get a party. Waited for a bit, no invite. I still needed fire, so I decided to bump around trying to get that while I waited. Then Death offered to help me out, and away we went. We got my Altep and Yhoat teleport crystals. Still no fire element. By the time we'd gotten my Yhoat crystal, my face hurt so bad I thought I was going to puke. Decided that bed would be a good idea.
We spent Saturday doing errands. Spent awhile at Ikea looking at stuff. Poor Mikey had to stay with us, as there was a line waiting to get into the ball area. Audrey just chilled. We bought some odds and ends and decided against buying stuff we'd have to strap to the roof. It was a bit gusty, didn't want to lose anything.
For dinner we went to TGI Friday's. Long wait for seating and food. Dinner was good, though. We wandered over to borders when we were done and I bought a bunch of books.
Got home, got on FFXI. I'd been leveling Jez this week, and figured I'd make an attempt to get that 300 exp on Meryell so I'd have TH2 again. Ha ha ha. I went to the jungle to solo. After a measly 12 exp on an EP Mandy, then almost dying to an EP Gob that aggroed me, I said "fuck it". Switched to Jez and popped my flag up.
So I'm waiting for an invite, and I finally get 2 at the same time. Pick the first one since he's the same level as I, the 2nd one was 2 levels higher than me. As I'm on my way to the Citadel, I get another invite. Suggest to the PT leader of the PT I'm joining that he might want to invite me so peeps stop bugging me.
We're doing fine, I've got no clue at this point how much exp we got. Our WHM had to leave and we continued with 5 people. The leader seemed to be in no hurry to fill the slot with ANYTHING. The NIN that was seeking would have been perfect. We had me (blm), an RDM, and a BARD. With 2 blink tanks, we would be doing splendidly. The space remained open, and the pull that would up being our last took a turn for the worse. I know I died. Someone was kind enough to raise me, and the PT disbanded.
So I'm talking with the BRD, trying to decide what to do. It's barely midnight. Then an LS mate asked if anyone wanted to join their Promyvion alliance. They had a slot open. I offered my services as BLM, and was told from whom to expect an invite. I warp back to Jeuno to get the last cutscene and grab my pre-31 gear.
Then I'm told... They (LS mate and his PT leader) were overruled by the rest of the alliance who decided they didn't want an extra BLM. Joy. I could have done WHM or NIN, but fuck them.
So I revised my search comment and sat my 33 BLM self down for a wait. Not too long later I get an invite. I wind up being the only NA in an all JP PT. The PT leader knew limited english, but I still felt quite lonely. I was a bit skeptical over the PT setup and our choice of location... Crawlers Nest.

And we ripped through the Crawlers like they were nothing. We stayed near the entrance to start, then after an hour or so, moved to a tunnel off of the sack room. That had is disadvantage as there was 3 spawn points in that room. Somewhere in there we exchanged our SMN for a different one. He didn't have Shiva, though, so no Blizzard II from him. After a mass death thanks to an untimely pop, we moved to the sack room, it had suddenly emptied out. We stayed there for awhile.
At about 6am, I started thinking about going to bed. At 630, the PT leader said he had to go. I used this as my opening, rather than giving 30 minute warning and waiting most of it for his replacement, I left too. Gave them an escape, then warped my way back to Jeuno. I went from mid-33 to 1500 shy of 36.
Sunday I slept until 130pm, then we went out to Target and then drove around for a bit trying to decide where to eat dinner. Wound up eating at Famous Dave's. I was a real bitch at that point as I was ravenous and was working on a migraine due to no food and no caffeine. Ribs were good, we discovered that Audrey likes them too. Most of mine went home, though, as I was full and Audrey was being a bit fussy.
Decided to play BLM for a bit again. [Before you ask, no, I'm not retiring Meryell to farmer. I'm just still miffed over losing TH2 and I'm trying not to PT as THF w/o the majority of the static...If the static still exists...] Popped my flag up, bought a new stack of pies, and settled down to wait. Got an invite for a forming party at the Citadel.
Brasenia from the LS was in the PT. Mirrii was in the citadel but in another PT. We had some problems to start, needed a 2nd voker for the NIN, but the NIN disbanded. We wound up with a different NIN as tank & the DRK changed his subjob from THF to WAR. The new NIN was close to 37. Can you say nerf?
I'm going to make a long story short here... The DRK was pulling, and he pulled links. We had entirely too much downtime. The DRK later replaced himself with a THF. Happened to be the THF from my Thursday night PT with Mirrii. The THF who had a friend playing his character while he was on vacation.
I decided that while his friend was a bit inept at pulling and playing THF, I liked the friend better.
Bras left and was replaced with a WAR. Our NIN tank also left and was replaced with a WAR as well. Our THF could stop his bitching about not having a SATA partner.
Against my better judgement, I went along to the banishing gate. According to the THF, there were "too many PTs" at the zone. There were fewer than when we started. And I guess the other 2 PTs were 2 PTs too many. We hauled off to the Gate w/o someone checking to see if there was another PT there. There was. We stood around trying to decide if we should camp in the dead end (deja vu) and the PT got a link and hauled through the gate to escape. We took their camp.
Second fight in, we get mass PT slaughter. I had to get a friend to come raise us all.
We get better after that. No more deaths. Exp is better. Then one of the RDMs needs to leave, he's falling asleep. (No wonder i'm doing most of the healing while he's meditating MP) one of the WARs had to leave, too. I'm an hour away from my cutoff time, so I say that I should go too. We escape, and that's the end of that. I did make a new friend from the PT. A Kiwi!
I ended up about 2K from 37.
Maybe I'll play WHM tonight.
