Minor Musings

Just rambling stuff.

Ok.. well..

I've lost track of when we did what, but this is what I got accomplished:

Jez : BLM 50
Obtained Papyrus for G1
Cooking 13

Mery: Rank 6
Clothcraft 61

That's about it. Did a lot of playing, but some of it was just sitting around. Did some coffer key hunting as well.

Tonight I hope to get the rest of Jez's G1 items so that I can get back to leveling her.

Kids are fine. Nothing eventful going on.

Weekend Accomplishments:

Thursday night I beat those fucking gobs at dice, so I could fight their "sister" the next night. OMG, it was so annoying. If I lost at dice, I'd have to try against that gob again AND any previous gobs. I was cussing up a storm when I failed against the 3rd guy the 2nd time. The 3rd time he rolled an 837. I thought "fuck, not again." I rolled an 838. WOohoo!

Friday night after work, got the PT together to fight the gobbie for the regal die. It took longer for all of us to get together than it did to fight her. But it was fun wandering around Dangruf Wadi killing everything that moved. Decided after we were done we'd go to Garlaige Citadel for some key hunting. I had my stuff for my hat, but I was in no hurry to run back to Windy to get it. It wasn't going anywhere! So we killed things for a bit and got the 3 keys we needed. Afterwards, D, was going to go look for his coffer. I was going to go to Windy, but Genjou made a comment about getting his clay for the monument. I thought "great idea!", hopped off the airship, grabbed my clay, and went with to get to the monument. After that, I said that I was just a liability at that point and could contribute nothing to coffer hunting and went back to Windy. Got my AF Hat!

Had to work on Saturday, which was a PITA, but I didn't have to stay too late. We were waiting on people for our low-50 PT, so I figured I'd do a little coffer hunting in Castle Oztorja for my AF Pants. Cubsfan was already there (and had been for awhile), so we teamed up to look. I kept an eye on the upper level and he the lower. We were there for over an hour with no coffer in sight. We suspect that someone was snatching coffers real quick before we could find it.

There were peeps on my level killing things for keys, we assumed. I was doing one of my rounds, and there in a room that they had been clearing out was a coffer! I asked Cubs if he minded if I got it. Then I braced myself to 2-hr and warp if it was a mimic. "Meryell obtained Rogue's Pulottes". Yay! But I felt so freaking guilty. Cubs had been there for HOURS and all he'd gotten were mimics. I came in there and on my first coffer got it. (He got his on Sunday, btw). I think for my next AF, which means a trip to Castle Zvahl, I'll do a key party instead of picking coffers.

We PTed for a bit, but I didn't get to 54. I did have 10K of exp to go through to get there. Afterwards I moved to the couch and farmed for a bit. Chatted for awhile with Gen while I farmed chips and silk, then called it a night. I needed to get some sleep before we went out on Sunday.

Sunday we went up to a development in Red Lion, PA. We got a late start (i'm such a slug), so we barely made it before they closed. The development itself wasn't too bad, but the drive through Dallastown and Red Lion was horrible. And to do that during rush?! EEk. But we grabbed whatever papers they had for the homes and left.

We grabbed a cache in New Freedom, then went to one just outside that was near the state line. It was a nice walk, and without a compass, we couldn't figure out which way to go to find it once we found the hint. >.< Then my batteries died in my eTrex, so we headed back to the truck. Damn that hurt. It was all uphill. [I'm feeling it now, my butt totally hurts.]

So we headed for home, got my part 2 of Osiris done, and finally got Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Geeze. Finally!

I decided to level Jez some more. I was reading when I got the PT invite. I was 1700 to 47, and there were 49s in the PT. Ouch. The exp was REALLY good until I hit 47, then it went to hell. A little after midnight the PT disbanded. I was right back to where I had been when I joined. 1700 to level... this time 48. :)

So I went to farm silk and chips again. Did some more chatting. Then called it quits. When I started farming it was just me. Then I got company. I'm respectful and if someone's going after, or looking at, the mob I want, I walk past it. But this little bitch did nothing of the sort. I had been getting all of the crawlers, but then someone else joined in and the cycle went to hell. So I called it quits and went to bed.

But that's about it. I'm gonna work on BLM some more tonight. I have people to catch up to!

AF2 - acquired! I called out sick from work yesterday because I was so bloody tired. I needed the extra sleep. I crawled out of bed around 5pm and found my way onto FFXI. Death tells us that Fory was interested in doing a lvl 50-52 pt tonight, but he told him that I wouldn't be home until late. Jer fired Fory a /tell real quick to tell him that I'm home and we're interested, but could we kill Dark Spark so that I could get my AF hands. And so we did. Yay! Got THF from 52-53 last night.

The weekend was "eh". I can't remember what the hell I did after work on Friday, but I had trouble (as usual) crawling out of bed on Saturday. Jer took kiddo to soccer practice and took Audrey with him. So it was after noon by the time I was up and moving. We headed towards York to look at some houses, and to snag a few caches. Grabbed one by the Timonium Library and another by the WalMart in Hunt Valley. Then headed for the border. There was a cache at the PA rest stop. It's there that I notice that I'm missing all of the cache info that I'd loaded (which actually ran into a space issue and didn't install) onto my PDA. Wound up not finding that cache as kiddo was with me and suddenly needed to pee. I check the nearby caches in Shrewsbury, and they're not in CacheMate either. One of them is a virtual and I needed the info from the description! So I said "fuck it" and we headed for York.

We get to York and poke around looking for the houses we were there to look at. There's a cache nearby which I knew was already in CacheMate. So we wander over there and I find it. The sucker had such strong magnets that I had trouble getting it off! There was another "urban micro", so we went over there. Jer was looking for it while I gave Audrey some cold medicine and he couldn't find it. I walk up to the hedgerow, look down, and snap it up.

So anyway, we drove around some more looking at houses and then headed for home. I got on FFXI and decided to play BLM. Got that from 40 to 41.

Sunday I got up late (my PT kept me up late) and we headed for my mom's. It was time to show Audrey off to my g'parents. I'd wanted to stop at some caches on the way, but we were running too late. The visit itself was pretty cool, hadn't seen my g'parents in about a year and a half. And my mom made lasagna, which is always yummy.

I had all the caches loaded into CacheMate, but we just stopped to look at the one at the Flying J. We needed gas anyway! Jer wound up finding it, but at the expense of a smelly hand. Some dog or animal had marked the post to which it was attached. That done, we headed for home.

Of course, I got on FFXI. Decided that I wanted to level BLM some more and set up my search comment. I was about to set my seek flag when I got a tell. Party? Do you need it?. Hell yes! So off I went in a kick ass PT which I got 2 levels in before we had to call it quits. It was running much better than the one I'd had Saturday where we'd had a bard! I did spend most of the party with next to no MP, but we were doing cool. I think I'll go back to Jez again tonight.

I also worked on my Leathercraft on Mery. Got it to 18. I did a level of farming Dhamel hides last night. I had capped on Lizard Cesti Monday night. I don't have to farm Lizard Skins for awhile now. I didn't bother AHing them, I just sold them back to the NPCs. Considering the Cesti were just over 100 gil, and I farmed my earth clusters and skins, I made a profit selling them back at 258. Woot!

Audrey's doing well, getting over her cold. She was toddling all over my parents house on Sunday. It looks like we need to bring a second baby gate with us. She's very interested in climbing stairs, so the stairs to upstairs had a guard most of the evening. We'd brought up one of our gates years ago, and that's been used for the basement stairs, to keep kiddos from falling down them.

Mikey liked soccer a lot. He's still excited about it. We thought that he may have to miss this saturday, but our sitter will meet us at the field and will take him home. We're going to the HFStival this weekend! Yay!

Just for fun, here's my geocaching stats:

Oh, and if I'm feeling up to it, I think I will post my thoughts on "fictional" (ie. role-played) relationship. :P <- that's for you if you're reading this and you know who you are. Neener.

Another week down. 2 months to go!

FFXI: We wound up exping Thursday night for a couple hours, which got me up to 52. It wasn't the full static, Jer, Death, and myself, including Fory and Shahar, and a random Dragoon. We still need to fight Dark Spark for our hand AF, but Jer still needs his coffer first. Never got around to it this weekend. I am nicely weathly from a personal standpoint. I have over 1 mil in gil across all my mules. Which will quickly decrease as I buy the scrolls I need for Jez. I have gotten Clothcraft to 59 and Leathercraft to 9.

Audrey's still toddling around like she was born to walk. Damn she's fast. Jer says that the two of them hold "conversations". She's very chatty. Working on teeth 5 & 6 still. Her recent favorite foods are pancakes and pizza crust. You should see her go after Mikey's pizza! The blockade method of keeping her in the den isn't going to work much longer. Need some sort of permanent solution. Damn open areas!

Saturday was supposed to be Mikey's first day of soccer practice. He's been looking forward to soccer for weeks. Friday night he was being a pill getting into bed until Jer told him that he had soccer in the morning, and doesn't he want to be well rested for soccer? the kid climbed right into bed!

Unfortunately the weather wasn't playing fair. It was raining Saturday morning and the first day of practice was cancelled. Kiddo was bawling over it. It had better not rain every Saturday for the next 2 months! Jer did take him to get his glasses afterwards, though. He's getting a normal kiddo pair and a pair of sports goggles.

I had to work Saturday, DR test. Yay. (not) WTF are these people going to do after I'm gone? I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the first DR w/o me. I'm sure it will be great fun. Hah! I think at the next DR I'm supposed to take a hands off approach. I'd planned on doing it this time, but I had a sheet handed to me... It's not so much as not being at the test that's the issue, but of properly synchronizing the applications prior to the test. Even if you keep up on cutovers, some changes do slip through the cracks. And I've spent the past few years doing this... Oh well. No more free dinner on some Saturdays, I guess. :(

Sunday I had a miserable sinus block and spent half the day curled up on the couch. I had to call it quits on the nap department, as Audrey was all too eager to play Climb Mount Mommy. So we decided to go out, as she hadn't had a nap, and what do babies do in cars? And maybe moving around would help my sinus to drain.

We ran a few errands, then headed for I-83. Jer wanted to go up into PA to look at a few houses he'd seen online. Audrey was asleep, so we stopped for munchies. Guess who woke up? So instead we went to IHOP for pancakes. Afterwards we visited a few geocaches. I didn't find one of them, and I felt like an idiot when I thought about it later. I'll try again this weekend. It was one of the caches put out in honor of the H2G2 movie which came out on April 29th, that I have yet to see.

So after finding 2 caches, we headed north. It was a dull and boring drive. Nothing to report there!

My allergist appt was scheduled for this morning. I had gotten in on a cancellation, and the appointment was for 930. Only I thought it was for 9am, so that's the time I got there. Feh. I spent the time going through CacheMate and bookmarking caches I wanted to visit.

Told my allergist how things had been, and what's going on at work. For allergies, I'm to double my nose spray. If that doesn't help, to call him, he'll add another spray. Good, 'cause all these OTC sinus things are royally drying out my nose. He's also given me a small dose of some anti-anxiety drug to take as needed. I have a feeling that I'll be needing some the end of June.

Afterwards I headed for a couple of caches. Scoped out the area of one, but I wasn't into brambles that early in the morning. So I went to Meadowood Park to look for a few caches and get some exercise in. The day was a partial bust. I still couldn't find that damned bridge cache. I did find The Sun. I passed over one of the caches as it's kid-oriented and I wanted Mikey with me. I tried to visit Wear your boots, but I wasn't wearing boots so I didn't get very far. I TOTALLY forgot about one of the H2G2 caches being in the park and I am kicking myself over it. I bypassed that leg of the walk and had headed straight for The Sun. Well, I'll be going back anyway, won't I?

And here I am at work. 3 hours to go on 3 hours of sleep. I am trying so hard to stay awake. I need more caffeine, but I have no ones for the soda machine. :`(
