I'm (finally!) on the road!
I had a moving fiasco with the movers. Of my 2 day spread, they decided to come Friday instead of Thursday. ok, fine. I'd slipped the disc in my back (again) on Monday, so I was so very behind on packing. DH called our contact in TX to let them know that the movers here would have to pack and load, instead of it just being a load.
One hour into packing, they take a smoke break. I moved some stuff out to my trunk when I got a call from our guy in TX. "Michelle, I understand we have a situation there?" Umm... as I stare at the guys smoking around their truck... No situation that I know of. Apparently they decided that they were being bitten by fleas in my apartment. Mind you, when they started their smoke break, one of the neighbors walking his dog stopped to smoke with them, and the guys were petting this dog.
My apartment does not have fleas. Spiders, yes. But the spiders and I have a laissez-faire kind of deal. If my cats had fleas, I would be the first one to notice. Fleas -love- me.
So the driver of the truck FINALLY came in to tell me that they weren't going to continue. This was the first I'd heard from them regarding the "flea" thing. We (me, DH, our contact) believe that they got tired of packing and decided to cop out of it. I grudgingly went out to buy flea foggers.
Another crew was either going to come out Saturday or Monday. They opted for Monday. On the plus side, I got 5 nights of my mom's home cooked meals AND I got to go to my brother's NYE party monday night. On the down side, I'd already planned to be in San Antonio by now. The crew that came out on Monday was SOOOO much nicer.
So yesterday I drove from New London, PA to Bristol, VA. 400-something miles. It started to snow on me as I was on the final stretch to Bristol. It's 12 outside, my car is covered in a nice layer of snow, my snow brush is buried underneath the things in my trunk... My goal is to make it to Memphis today. I just have to load my car, clear it off, and find my cat... :D
My cat, btw, spent most of yesterday's trip yowling at me before he got the point that I wasn't going to let him out. Hehehe.
Time to stop procrastinating.
